A grape variety, several grape varieties, vineyards, villages... of the Champagne region, the champagne, champagnes... a story, an estate, men...

From the beginning of the story of our estate some men played a very important role. From either my grandfather or my father I inherited first of all their sense of autonomy that was so characteristic of them. Since 1930, Ludovic, my grandfather, was one of the pioneers of the independent winegrowers which was a revolution for the time. From 1970 on, Robert, my father, defended with other winegrowers the precursory idea of the quality reserve. It consisted in creating a reserve from the harvest of an excellent year to be able to face the eventual difficulties occurring with years giving lower grape quality. In the Champagne region, even more than in other vineyards, the years follow each other but do not look alike.

The elaboration of champagne wine is a permanent work. From the vineyard to the wine, passing through all the steps of the wine production and the maturation, the mass of links forming this chain owes a common denominator to the search for authenticity and the respect of the profound nature of the associated elements. This chain has the special particularity of never being interrupted. It is a part of an entity, of this search for the conjunction of elements and unique factors.
